What Would Buddy Do?
I am not left-handed either!

have a seat on the bench big fellaI don’t ask for much in this world. I sat through that hideous first Giants game at the Meadowlands and watched the Birds get pummeled. It wasn’t sweet. In my smaller and more bitter moments, I’d remind Giants fans that they didn’t play all the well that night either (16 points?), but that’s just sour grapes. They beat our team badly.

The thing is, as mentioned here previously, the Giants are definitely my least favorite team in the NFL. Big Blue, freakin’ royalty up there in New York, the darling of the league office (you mean they got the extra home game for the second time in three years? Really? That isn’t a big deal?), no cheerleaders, the geriatric fans, the Scott Norwood miss, Michael Freakin’ Strahan, tell us how awesome and personable you are, Tiki Barber, tell us how awesome and personable you are, etc etc. Really don’t like them. Would very much prefer if they lost horribly today.

There’s a big difference between this week and September 30: the Eagles’ best player will be on the field. The return of 5 gets the press (as well it should), but the real difference between Week 4 and now is that the 36 Chambers of Brian Westbrook will be in the lineup for the Birds. Also, the artist formerly known as Tra Thomas will be doing his best to prevent Giants’ defensive lineman from setting sack records.

The Birds really don’t have much business winning this game, as their season is effectively over already.  But if you ask me which of the final four games I want the Birds to win the most, this is it, not even close.  Dallas can have it next week.  Fine.  But a humiliation of the Giants (some sort of multi-interception affair from Eli, perhaps some well-timed injuries to the defensive line to cripple their playoff prospects) might make it all worth it.

Also, since we can’t not mention it, I really hope the Eagles score the first time they have the ball; I don’t have the stomach to watch Dunavin get booed this morning.  It’s just really boring at this point.

Like I said, I don’t ask for much in this world, but on a cold Sunday morning, couldn’t the Giants be the team that played crappily and lost the game instead of the Birds?  They’re just as inconsitent as the Eagles?  Is that so bad?
