You’d think we’d all be able to continue to bask in the glow of a GLORIOUS VICTORY AGAINST THE HATED COWBOYS.

It’d be nice, wouldn’t it.

Instead, we’re going to get a couple more days (at least) of he-said-she-said in re: whether or not Donovan McNabb told Pam Oliver that he thinks that he’s getting shipped out of town. Oliver’s response to McNabb’s post-game denial:

“My only professional regret is: Why on Earth did I bend over backwards to make it less impactful?,” she said. “And then wake up to … to someone throwing you under bus like that.”

“All I can tell you is I stand by it 100 percent,” she later added. “It’s on-my-mother’s-grave accurate. That’s the bottom line.”

YAWN.

While the blathermonkeys will insist that it’s newsworthy to discuss whether Donovan or Pam is lying, we’ll ignore Brian Westbrook’s impending Pro Bowl nomination and a charming little vengeance game this weekend against the Saints. Yet another week of all Dunavin, all the time.

Does this really still sell papers?  Really?

For the record, I think that Donovan probably said everything that was reported and then some, and I don’t remotely care. I want him to come back next year, but I can’t blame the guy for being bitter and pissed off at the org-an-eye-zay-shun and the city. So he said he thinks it might not work out in Philly. Really? You mean after the blathermonkeys have been discussing that scenario non-stop since May? Ya think? Again, I’m shocked he doesn’t just throw a stapler at these jackals.

In all fairness, Andy Reid is finally stepping up and telling the blathermonkeys to cut the crap, but it’s a couple months too late. Joe Banner did us all a favor a couple weeks ago (or so I thought), but no, I guess Dunavin doesn’t believe him.

The only question that remains is whether McNabb will get a blog post up before what I’m sure will be yet another charming Wednesday press conference.

I think the smart money’s on a blog post.
