Birds’ rookie DeSean Jackson was one of 34 first-year players invited to Los Angeles (Los Angeles? Is there a team that plays in Los Angeles?) for a trading card photo shoot this past weekend.
While there were definitely a few road-grader-sized rookies invited (Jake Long, Glenn Dorsey), most of the invitees tended to be of the smaller/ faster/ handsomer variety. That is, lots of quarterbacks (including FIFTH-ROUNDER John David Booty), running backs, and wideouts. Which explains why DeSean Jackson got a ticket but Trevor Laws didn’t.
Hopefully we’ll be hearing more from both guys this week at rookie camp. Otherwise it’s going to be a sloooooow news week for football (depending on whether or not I just give in and post anti-Belichick screeds all week).
