Agreed that we'll boo failure pretty much every time.

I think the national commentators latch onto it for a couple reasons: (1) it's the standard cliche about Philly (fans are angry and boorish), and thus requires less thinking on their part; (2) it distances them from the locals and positions them as wiser and more rational analysts; and (2a) it enables them to cozy up to McNabb -- especially when he's playing well, though they'll dump on him from afar the first chance they get when he's down.

But it's definitely important that Donovan remain angry. Very very angry.

I'm tired of McNabb being so angry, but I gues you;re right - if it helps him win games keep it going. One question though - why do sportscasters/announcers (I'm looking specifically at you Deion Sanders) act so surprised and offended that Philly fans boo McNabb when he struggles? Is "Philly Fans Boo Struggling QB" really news (or new)? Were any of these guys around when Jaworski or Cunningham were playing? They were both booed mercilessly on and off during their years, and now both are looked at as Philly sports heroes. Don't take it personally, Donovan - they're only booing you because Lurie doesn't step out on the field when you guys are losing.
