I’m an expat from the Illadelph with an unreasonable fascination with the Philadelphia Eagles (I call them my sports feelings, and I acknowledge and validate them as “real”). I grew up in the Northeast (Bustleton), and have recently returned to New York after a stint in the Pacific Northwest (C@L, to be specific). Thanks to the wonders of the Electric InterGoogles, one can actually follow the Birds fairly closely even if you’re not in the Philly area.

For this I am thankful.

• I am passionate about cheesesteaks, but I’m not such a purist that I’m ashamed to admit that the Cheesesteak Hoagie is my most favorite style of cheesesteak preparation.
• I have not been to Lincoln Financial field since the divisional playoff game against the Vikings in January 2005. I plan to address this with a combination of airfare and “spending too much money on tickets” at some point during the 2007 season (Ed.’s note: we got this fixed at the Detroit game earlier this year).
• My commemorative coffee mug from Fourth-and-26 still sits in my bedroom; for the record, the Birds deserved to lose that game.
• I was once employed by the Philadelphia Eagles and have the signed contract (or NDA, whichever) to prove it.
• I think that the 1991 Eagles Defense was the most dominant NFL defense of the past 20 years.
